OUR HISTORY

THE STORY OF DAVY GAS

Davy Gas Inc. is named after the famed pioneer, Sir Humphry Davy, who is best known for  using electrolysis.  Sir Davy went beyond discovery to understand, create solutions and processes that are still used today. Although Sir Davy was a pioneer in  electrolysis and discovered many elements we are now familiar with, it is his use and expansion with electrolyzation that Davy Gas is committed to continuing.

Davy Gas was initially established with the objective of developing hydrogen fuel cell range extenders for electric vehicle (EV) delivery fleets, catering to major corporations such as Amazon, FedEx, and UPS. While the pursuit of this solution to address the logistical challenges associated with transitioning delivery fleets to EVs was commendable, the financial feasibility of the concept was compromised by limitations within the hydrogen supply chain. Upon recognizing that hydrogen production predominantly concentrated in specific geographical regions, where it was liquefied and transported over extensive distances via trucks, the impracticality of the initial approach became evident.

Through conversations and research of industry users, consumers, and experts we saw a gap, a large gap in the supply chain of gaseous hydrogen and ultra-high purity and research grade oxygen.
